Sindh Police Chief Syed Kamal Shah has directed city police chief to control street crimes and make supervision of police station effective. In a directive issued on Wednesday the police chief said that street crimes were on the increase and pedestrians, commuters by public transport, small shopkeepers and the daily wage earners were scared of these criminals.

He said that operation against the street criminals should be speeded up and its results should be visible.

The police chief said that police vigilance in and around shopping centers should be increased and a system to keep people alert should be developed.

He said that hourly situation reports should reach town control room and it should be monitored by senior police officers.

The police chief said that the SHO should ensure that police in their jurisdiction was mobile and equipped with proper arms to deal with emergencies.

He said that negligent SHOs would be held responsible for crimes in their respective jurisdiction.
